Mrs Eva Weiler-Mithoff

Eva is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and an honorary senior lecturer at Glasgow Univerity.
Trained Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
After graduation from Marburg Medical School in Germany she completed her plastic surgical training in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Bristol and Glasgow. She has a specialist interest in breast reconstruction, microsurgery and fat transfer. She is also a member of the West of Scotland Managed Clinical Network for Breast Cancer and involved in the training of plastic and oncoplastic Surgeons nationally and internationally.
Her interests in cosmetic surgery include all forms of breast surgery, for which she has an international reputation, and body contouring (tummy tucks and liposuction). After carrying out research on the use of stem cell enriched fat tissue in breast reconstruction, she is one of the first plastic surgeons in the UK to introduce the RESTORE procedure for patients who have previously undergone surgery for breast cancer.
Eva is also using this new technique in a pioneering the repair of recurrent wounds post infection , which are currently extremely difficult to manage with existing treatments.
In a survey of reconstructive specialist breast surgeons Eva was voted as one of the top 10 breast surgeons in the UK by her peers. Her skills in this area have helped many women to a much improved quality of life after having sometimes had significant surgery for breast cancer.
The long awaited RESTORE-2 clinical trial data, published in March 2012 has show a marked improvement in result for breast reconstructive surgery using stem cell enriched fat transfer techniques. One of the seven participating hospitals in this trial was the GRI and the lead consultant at this site was Mrs Eva Weiler Mithoff , who is one of the Confidence Cosmetic’s team.
